So much of what we watch and listen to now is written by an AI and read aloud, and it has a sound. The same clichés, the same rhythms, the same hollow hype. Slop Hound listens to whatever's playing, spots those tells, and gives you a rough 0–10 slop score.
How it works
- Listen. Tap 'Listen' and put your phone near a audio source (TV, computer, or live speaker even). It turns the audio into text right on your device and scores it live.
- Or paste. Copy text from anywhere and tap 'Paste'.
- See the tells. The score climbs as clichés and AI-style rhythms pile up. Tap the counters to see exactly what got flagged, and watch the flagged words turn red in the transcript.
- Ask Claude (optional). Add your own Anthropic API key and get a second opinion from Claude, with the cost of each analysis, usually a few cents, shown right in the app.

A fair warning
This is a rough gauge of writing style, not a verdict. Plenty of thoughtful humans lean on the same clichés, and a high score doesn't prove anyone used AI. Take it in the spirit it's meant: a fun take from the Slop Hound slop-o-meter.

Slop Hound runs on your device. Audio is turned into text on the phone and is never recorded or uploaded.
