Does it record or upload my audio?

No. Listening happens entirely on your device. The audio is turned into text and the audio itself is never recorded, saved, or sent anywhere.

Is there a time limit on listening?

Yes. Listening stops automatically after 10 minutes and renders a verdict — plenty for a quick read on a clip. If an ad interrupts, tap Pause and then Resume; paused time doesn't count toward the 10 minutes.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Listening, transcribing, and scoring all run on the phone. The only feature that uses the internet is the optional "Analyze with AI," which sends the transcript to Anthropic.

What is "Analyze with AI," and does it cost money?

It's an optional second opinion from an AI model (Anthropic's Claude). You add your own Anthropic API key in Settings, and each analysis costs a few cents of your API usage. The exact amount is shown in the app after every analysis. If you never add an API key, the button never appears and nothing is ever sent anywhere.

How do I add my API key?

Tap the gear icon, then paste your key from console.anthropic.com. It's stored securely in your device's Keychain.

Why did it flag my perfectly normal speech?

The meter looks for clichés and rhythms common in AI scripts, but real people use them too. A high score is a sign of style, not proof that anyone used AI. Treat it as a rough gauge, not a verdict.

How accurate is it?

It's a heuristic, so it isn't perfect. It can miss things and it can over-flag. It's meant to be a fun, useful nudge, not a courtroom exhibit.
